39 students in grades 9-12 from BYHS traveled to Greensboro on Feb 7 & 8 to attend the NC State BETA convention.  The club received a Key Award for growth and were named a school of distinction.
Each student competed or participated in an academic or artistic competition.  Some highlights of the convention are:
Cameron Brown ran for secretary; she was not elected, but did a great job with her campaign, with the support of all students.
Cal Vogel placed 5th in visual arts with a digital art design.
Jackson Jones placed 2nd in 9th grade science.
Alivia Mims placed fourth in speech, grades 9-10.
Wesley Turner placed third in Agri-Science, for grades 11-12.
The club would like to thank the BY faculty and administrators for their support as they prepared for their competitions.
